SEMARANG, INDONESIA — Dept. of Mathematics UNDIP recently hosted the Dipo Math Summer Course 2026, gathering students, researchers, and industry professionals around the central theme, “Modern Applied Mathematics for the AI-Driven Era.” Held from July 13 to July 17, 2026, the five-day hybrid event combined rigorous academic instruction, expert lectures, and global networking at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) UNDIP campus and online via Zoom.

Designed to equip participants with essential mathematical foundations for artificial intelligence, the course focused on connecting mathematical theory to real-world AI challenges. Attendees explored critical methodologies in applied mathematics to enhance their computational problem-solving skills for data-driven fields.
The program featured insights from a distinguished international line-up of speakers: Prof. Karel Svadlenka (Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan) delivered offline lectures on Variational Approach to PDEs: Analysis and Numerics. Asst. Prof. Krit Sittivangkul (Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand) led sessions on Generative AI and Data Analysis: Concepts and Applications. Assoc. Prof. Chinwendu E. Madubueze (University of Agriculture, Nigeria) joined online to lecture on Bifurcation Analysis.

Beyond daily lectures and hands-on tutorials, attendees presented contributed talks and took part in social activities. On July 16, participants also received complimentary access to the plenary, invited, and parallel sessions of the ISNPINSA conference.
A key highlight for student attendees was a special mentorship session focused on graduate study opportunities in Japan and Thailand. Participants received practical guidance on Master’s and Ph.D. admissions, scholarship applications, and direct interaction with potential research supervisors.

Offered completely free of charge, alongside travel grants awarded to international students, the Dipo Math Summer Course 2026 highlighted UNDIP’s commitment to advancing global collaborative research in mathematics and AI.
