PHILADELPHIA, USA — Dr. Sutrisno joined thousands of mathematicians, researchers, and Fields Medal recipients from around the globe at the prestigious International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026, held in Philadelphia from July 23–30 under the auspices of the International Mathematical Union (IMU).
The congress kicked off with an Opening Ceremony, laudatio presentations, and a reception honoring the late Jim Simons. Throughout the event, Dr. Sutrisno participated in an extensive scientific program featuring Plenary Lectures, the Abacus Medal Lecture, and distinguished talks such as the Emmy Noether and Chern Medal Award Lectures. Highlighting the intersection of mathematics and modern technology, the conference also hosted public lectures by renowned figures, including Terence Tao and Manjul Bhargava, and panel discussions focused on Artificial Intelligence.

As an active contributor, Dr. Sutrisno presented a research poster with the topic of “Solution Theory for Singular Linear Switched Systems in Discrete Time.” His presentation introduced recent findings in singular switched systems, spurring insightful discussions with international experts in control theory and applied mathematics that paved the way for future research collaborations.
Alongside his scientific presentation, Dr. Sutrisno promoted UNDIP’s academic programs, research strengths, and global initiatives through a dedicated university showcase poster, advancing UNDIP’s international visibility and global engagement.

Reflecting on the event, Dr. Sutrisno noted that participating in ICM 2026 significantly broadened his perspective on global academic partnerships and opened valuable pathways for international joint research.
